About Kajaani Casamba
Kajaani Dance Sport Club Casamba ry
Our range of disciplines includes ballroom and Latin dances, pole dance classes for children, youth and adults, flexibility and body maintenance classes, fitness dance, social dance, and flamenco classes.
We are the only competitive dance club in our region, and therefore many of our solo groups are based on ballroom and Latin dance techniques. Casamba also hosts Kainuu’s only Latino Show group for children and youth.
Our association is a registered non-profit organization (PRH), and all income is used solely to cover operational expenses.
We are a member of the Finnish Dance Sport Federation (STUL ry), the Finnish Social Dance Federation (SUSEL ry), and the Finnish Pole Dance Federation (under the Finnish Strength Sports Federation).
Casamba is one of Finland’s 650 audited “Star Clubs” (Tähtiseura) — a quality recognition awarded by the Finnish Olympic Committee, the Finnish Dance Sport Federation, and the regional sports organization Kainuun Liikunta for excellence in activities for children, youth, and adults.

The club’s board of directors, elected annually at the autumn general meeting, is responsible for managing the club’s operations and finances.
The board consists entirely of volunteers and includes a chairperson, vice chairperson, secretary, treasurer, membership coordinator, and other officers as needed.
Our club activities involve volunteers, paid instructors, and professional teachers. All of our instructors receive training through the club.
We maintain close cooperation with the city, local associations, and businesses in the region. Through our activities, we promote health and well-being, while also strengthening the attractiveness and vitality of our community.
Casamba also provides employment opportunities for local and national entrepreneurs as well as summer jobs for young people. In the summer of 2025, we employed four young summer workers.
